Born on May 12, 1954 in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal to the late Jaime and Olinda Carreiro. For 46 years, he was the loving husband to his “Bunny” Rosemary, who loved the life she shared with her “Nellie”. He leaves behind his son, Jamie, his wife Jessica, and grandson, Anthony. He is survived by his siblings, Joe, Margarida, Eugenia, Rosarihna, Filomena, Goretti, and Fernando. He is predeceased by his brother, Luis. He also leaves behind many godchildren, nieces, and nephews. Nelson will be immensely missed by not just his family, but his countless friends who he loved to spend time with. He had a very special place in his heart for all his friends and family, especially his best friend and brother-in law, Tony.
Everyone remembers Nelson as a man of many talents. A skilled builder and craftsman “jack of all trades”, an excellent cook, a drummer, a champion of wit and humor with a knack for making the best monikers for the people in his life. He will be sadly missed by all.
