Manuel (Nho Ney) Monteiro, 89, passed away peacefully on October 26th, 2024. Born on November 15th, 1934 in Vila Nova Sintra, Brava, Cabo Verde.
Manuel Monteiro also known as "Nho Ney" was the loving husband of the late Maria Helena Rosa Monteiro, (his one and only sweetheart), and was also the father of the late Fatima Monteiro and Osvaldo Rosa Monteiro.
Manuel is survived by his daughter Carmen and husband Carlos (Kalu) Monteiro, daughters Cesarina Monteiro Elias and Ivonilde Monteiro Burgess, two sons, Carlos and spouse Katy Monteiro, and Roberto Monteiro. He leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two sisters, and a brother as well as many nephews, nieces and friends.
He was a kind and generous person, a gentle soul and a family man. If you asked, he would tell you that his long life was credited to his faith in God, his loving and supportive family, and the “health benefits” of a glass of “vinho” a day. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were for him, life’s greatest treasures. The sound of children laughing and playing brought him great joy-the more the merrier, but do not let his grand babies cry or you will be sure to know about it. We have been blessed to know such a kind hearted man to call Dad and Vovo. As heaven's door opened up to receive Manuel Monteiro on the 26th of October 2024, our hearts were left with a void that will not be filled until that great and faithful day when we will meet again in God's heavenly kingdom. He fought the good fight of faith. He finished his race and now he rests in the peace of the Almighty God.

"Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever," (Psalm 23:6).

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 4pm-7pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 29th from the Keefe Funeral Home at 8:30am with a funeral home service starting at 10am. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, East Providence RI.
