Carmen Torres, a devoted sister, mother of two, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of seventeen, died peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024, while she was a hospice resident. Born on January 13, 1952, in Yauco, Puerto Rico, Carmen Torres, 72, moved to New York as a child and made permanent residence in Rhode Island later in her years. Carmen led a life filled with honor, love, and glorify faith during these years. Her siblings, Maria Solar, Isreal Torres, and Juan Torres; her two daughters, Magdalene and Desiree Domenech; her grandchildren, Christina Domenech, Stepanie Rodriguez, Ashley Ortiz, Cassandra Domenech, Megan Domenech, and Gregory Flynn; and her great-grandchildren, Nariyah, Julissa, Amaya, Alexander, Ezra, Jayden, Aleah, Sophia, Izabella, Victor, Evangalyne, Oliva, Ana, Noel, Lorenzo, Leilani, and Liliana, will carry on her loving spirit.
Spending time with her family, reading her Bible, hearing her gospel, praising the lord, and making her daily rotation of phone calls to the family were Carmen's greatest pleasures in life. She was colorful, gregarious, and the beating heart of any occasion. Many people who had the pleasure of meeting Carmen can attest to the reality that she was anything but typical; she was a ball of enjoyment, a force to be reckoned with, a woman who never stopped dancing, and the glue that kept her family together. Although she is no longer with them, her family remains committed to the values she taught them: to always forgive, to always put family first, always be a helping hand to those in need and to keep practicing their Christian faith. Carmen Torres, a spirit that is gone but will never be forgotten and will always be loved.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 11th, 2024 from 4pm-7pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. Burial private.
