Maria A. Barros, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Pawtucket, RI, after recently returning from Cape Verde, where she had spent many years following her retirement. Born on August 11, 1937, in São Lourenço, Fogo, Cape Verde, to Domingas Andrade and Tedeo Andrade, Maria lived a life devoted to faith, family, and kindness.

Maria was the cherished wife of the late Belmiro Barros. She was a loving mother to five children: Ligia Barros, Belmira Barros, Maria Mendes, and Manuel Barros, and was preceded in death by her son, Henrique Barros. She was also a proud grandmother to many, whom she adored beyond measure.

Maria spent many years working at Hope Webbing Co. before retiring. She was known for her generous spirit, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family. She prayed constantly for her loved ones, always putting them first. Her warmth could be felt in every meal she cooked, especially during the holidays, when she gathered her family together with love and laughter. She took joy in offering advice to her grandchildren, sharing wisdom and guidance that will remain in their hearts forever.

A devout woman, Maria found great peace in attending church and spending time with those she loved. Her kind and giving heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to honor her life at a viewing on Monday, March 31, 2025, from 9 AM to 11 AM at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI 02865. Burial will be held at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery in Pawtucket, RI.

Maria’s love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
