Juvina Silva, 77, passed away in her home in Pawtucket, RI on March 27, 2025. She was a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Born and raised in Brava, Cape Verde Islands, daughter of Manuel Miguel Silva and Julia (DaVeiga) Silva, Juvina moved to Dakar, Senegal in 1976 and lived there for many years with her husband and five sons, 2 of which were born there. She immigrated to the United States with her sons in 1988 and her husband joined the family in 1997. She lived in Pawtucket, RI for 37 years and was a communicant of Saint Anthony’s Church.

Mrs. Silva worked for over 15 years at New England Linen Supply. In her spare time, she was cooking and spending time with her family and loved ones. She worked hard and her home was a safe haven for all family and friends and often hosted holiday gatherings and birthday celebrations. She enjoyed going shopping and traveling with her sisters and caring for her grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Joaquim Cruz of Pawtucket, RI, her children: Joao Dapina of Pawtucket, RI, Joaquim DaCruz of East Greenwich RI, Jose Cruz of Charlotte, NC, Pedro Cruz of Pawtucket, RI, and Fernando Cruz of Pawtucket, RI; her grandchildren: Julie Ann, Stephanie, Alexia, Catherine, and Justice; her sisters: Maria DeSousa of Pawtucket and Laura Garcia of Attleboro, MA; her brothers Antonio DaSilva and Joao Silva, both of Pawtucket, RI and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, godchildren, and close friends who were considered family. She was predeceased by her parents Manuel and Julia Silva and her siblings: Emilia Silva, Miguel Silva, and Jose Silva.

Juvina’s visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025 from 4pm-7pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. Her funeral will be Thursday, April 3rd, 2025 starting at the Keefe Funeral Home at 9:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow and be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 291 High St. Pawtucket, RI at 11:30am. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket RI.
