August 10, 1929 - May 6, 2025

Maria Loots, 95 passed away on May 6, 2025 surrounded by family in North Providence. Born in Brava, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Eugenia Nunes and Antonio Burgo. Maria was the wife of the late Richard Loots who served as a U.S Navy veteran, the two lived a wonderful life in Sacrimento, California for over 50 years.

Maria did not have any children. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Pawtucket, Rhode Island to live alongside her family. She is surrvived by her sisters Ana Gomes and Diana Nunes, also her late brother Daniel Nunes. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, Joao Gomes, Maria Delgado, Eugenia Fernandes, Jose Gomes, the late Antonio Gomes, Alice Xavier, Candida Gomes, Anita Fernandes, Daniel Gomes, Joanna Gibau, Jeannie Nunes, and Paul Nunes.

Maria was a loving motivating, strong woman, full of life who is remembered by how she was very passionate about taking the best care of herself possible, and staying active. She will truly be missed.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025, from 8:00am-10:15am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. 291 High Street, Pawtucket at 11am. Burial is private.
