She lived her life right to the very end of it. Her resilient, positive spirit and her sense of humor stayed with her.
She was devoted, loving and generous to her family and they, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, returned that love and devotion in her final hours. She was the wife of the late David Hartley.
Mildred was the daughter of the late Clare A. and Gertrude (Wilding) Gould.
She had been employed by the former Pawtucket Institution for Savings, was an active member of the Wesley United Methodist Church serving as a past secretary and a major contributor of their holiday bazaar.
Mildred volunteered at the Historic Hearthside House, was an avid Red Sox fan and was a catcher for the former Susie Q's fast pitch softball team.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Nancy Vine, Darlene Palenski and Susan Kelly, 4 sons, William, Douglas, David, and Donald Hartley, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was the twin sister of the late Hildred Woolley.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11am in the Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 Woodland St, Lincoln.
Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln.
