He was the son of the late David and Emily (Lang) Ethier,
He had been employed at the Coffee Cup restaurant and in his later years at the Riverside Diner, Pawtucket.
Herbie was known to ride his bike back and forth to work, and later to the Friendly Tap and Post 14 Cumberland. He was an avid Yankees fan, loved big band music and Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
He is survived by four brothers, Alvin, Raymond, Gilbert and Walter Ethier all of Cumberland, his nieces Amy and Ann Marie Ethier, a nephew, Michael Ethier and his best friend Miles Tingley. He was the brother of the late David L. Ethier.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at Noon from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private in St, Johns Cemetery, Cumberland.
