"Lichinho" 91 passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Joao and Candida (Dos Reis) Fernandes.
Lichinho was a proud member of the US Merchant Marines serving during WWII.
He was the beloved and devoted husband of Ines (Costa) Fernandes.
A truly amazing and caring father who is survived by 4 sons, John, Alex Jr, Jose and Luis, 2 daughters, Candida and Palmira, 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Monday at 8:30 am from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Edward's Church, Weeden St, Pawtucket at 10am. Burial with Military Honors will be held at the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 to 9pm.
