Gilbert J. Lapre,"Gil" 82, passed March 20th. He was the husband of Shirley (O'Neil) Lapre. They had been married for 60 years.
Gilbert had been employed for 27 years by Texas Instruments retiring in 1993. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Steven G. Lapre and Gary J. Lapre and his wife Lori, two daughters, Gail A. Lapre and her companion Jack J. Gaudreau and Susan M. Lapre and her companion Gerald Jeff, three granddaughters, Melanie M. Green, Sheri Lapre and Katie Lapre and two great granddaughters, Tayler and Sydney Green.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 24th in St. Raymond's Church, North Main St, Providence at 11am. Burial will be private in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
