80, died peacefully September 13th, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Patricia (Rakutis) Hoey. They were married for fifty-five years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James and Frances (Murray) Hoey.
Mr. Hoey was employed at Blackstone Valley Electric for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Peter was also a fifty year member of the Providence Turners Club.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Sharon Holmes and her husband Doug of Lincoln, Christine Tomlinson and her husband Robert of Cumberland, three sons, Peter T. Hoey and his wife Maria of Lincoln, William J. Hoey of Strafford, N.H and Joseph A. Hoey of Douglas, MA., twelve grandchildren, a brother, James J. Hoey of Cumberland. He was the brother of the late Mary Byrnes, Edward and Charles Hoey.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 9am from Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude Church, Front St. Lincoln at 10am. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday from 4-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St. Providence, RI, 02904 would be appreciated.
