Born in the Azores, Portugal, he was a son of Maria (DeMello) and the late Manuel Paiva. He had been employed as a construction worker for many years. Besides his mother, he is survived by three sons, Izzy Kelly, Jason Bates and William Kelly, his siblings, Diamond Santos, Joseph Paiva, William, Louis, Michael, David and Cheryl Russell and Vicky Richards. He was the father of the late Deborah Kelly and brother of the late Jeannie Rio. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6 to 9pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln.
