"Mel" 70, passed Wednesday April 10th. He was the lifetime companion of the late Walter F. Laurie.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Harry and Rose Goldenberg.
He was the Co Proprietor of the former "Flowers to Remember" and had retired from the City of Central Falls. Mel was a member of the "Odd Fellows".
He was a dedicated member of Park Place Congregational Church, was the founder of their Chopstick Auction and facilitator of the Thrift Shop.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Faria and her husband Jim and Lucy Coderre and her husband Ray, all of Lincoln and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and an uncle.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8pm. Memorial gifts may be made to Park Place Congregational Church, 71 Park Place, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
