He was the son of Gary A. Furtado and the late Odete A. (Duarte) Furtado.
He had been employed by the University Club of Providence.
Besides his father, he is survived by his grandmother, Irene (Fernandes) Duarte, a sister, Kim Medeiros, a brother, Jason Furtado, a niece, Alexis, and his nephews, Brayden, and Antonio. He was the fiance of Tammy Nary. Gary was the grandson of the late Agostinho Duarte.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 24, 2013 at 11am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 to 8pm.
