83, passed away peacefully on August 30th at Orchard View Manor with her loving family, friends, Nurse Kathy and Rev. Susannah by her side. She was the wife of the late Mathew S. Wilk of Central Falls.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Anastasia (Kogut) Zuba of Poland.
She had been the co-owner of the former Wilk's House in Central Falls for many years where she was known as "Mother Superior" and, conversely, "The Dragonlady". She had been a waitress at Alexion's Family Restaurant, formerly of Pawtucket and Mailia Restaurant of Honolulu, Hawaii. Mrs. Wilk was a life-long member of the Fierlit-Korzen, VFW Post 79, Central Falls.
Anna was a spirited and independent woman of strength and determination. These qualities aided her with the many challenges she faced throughout her eventful and interesting life. "It wasn't easy." She was a devoted mother and grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. Family meant everything to her and she was there for her family and friends as long as "you did what she told you to do". Her work with BVCAP aiding families in her community and her love and care of her many animals was well known in Cumberland where she lived for most of her life until she moved to Honolulu, Hawaii.
She is survived by two daughters, Roseanna Roselli and Rhonda-Lisa Wilk-Killeen, both of Cumberland, two grandsons, Ronald J Roselli Jr, of Attleboro and Ricky Wilk of Slaton, Texas, Florence Fierlit of Pawtucket, her many nieces and nephews and her adored cat Cissy. She was the sister of the late Victoria Pacheco, Sophie Zuba, Joseph, Frank and Chester Zuba.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, September 4th from 6 to 9pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be held Friday in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket at 9:30am.
