Born in Rehoboth, MA, and raised in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Amedee J. and Hortense Z. (Fournier) Corneau.
She had been employed by Texas Instruments for 31 years before retiring. Gertrude and her late husband were members of the Royal Travelers.
She is survived by four sisters, Yvette Fregeolle of Nevada, Estelle Jarest of Attleboro; Sr. Helene Corneau SSA of Vancouver, and Sr. Jeannette Corneau of South Attleboro, a brother, Arthur Corneau of Central Falls and many nieces and nephew. She was the sister of the late Theresa St. Pierre, Lucille Marquis; George Corneau, Sr. Rita Corneau SP, and Raymond Corneau. Although Gertrude's endurance limited her at times, she continued to live a rich prayerful life.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 8:45 from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a funeral mass in St. Theresa Church, Baltic Ave, South Attleboro at 10am. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Thursday from 6 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Life Care Center of Attleboro, (activities dept. in memo please) 969 Park St, Attleboro, MA, 02703.
