Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Manuel Almeida and Aduzinda (Rato) Fournier.
He was the proprietor of Benjamin's III in Central Falls for many years. He was an avid dancer, and liked singing and spending time with his family. Arthur was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
Besides his wife he is survived by four children, Arthur and Deborah Almeida, Neal and Danielle Almeida, Tina and Jamie Matos, John and Stacy Almeida and 7 grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Mary Martel, John and Manuel Santos, Edward and Egas Almeida.
His funeral will be held Monday at 8:45am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Edward Church, Weeden St, Pawtucket at 10am. Burial with Military Honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Sunday 4 to 7pm.
