Bernice Jefferies, 79, of Providence, RI, passed away, Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 25, 1934 in Linden, Alabama. Bernice is the mother of the late Steven "Cup" Jefferies, Dorothy Jefferies, and Dennis Jefferies. She is survived by daughters Denise Johnson and Rena Jefferies, sister Everine Jefferies, many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Bernice was a dedicated worker, and retired from the RI School for the Deaf. We will always remember Bernice as a fun, loving , kind, and selfless. She always opened her doors to family and friends in need. She will never be forgotten in our hearts and memories. Calling hours will be held Monday morning, December 30th from 11am-1pm, followed by a funeral service at 1pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, RI. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence.
