age 74, passed away peacefully at home on January 24. She and her husband Donald S. Neil Sr. were married for 55 years. Joanne was born in Worcester, MA, but lived in Pawtucket for most of her life. Daughter of the late Ann (Blake) & Thomas Heaney Sr., she graduated from Sacred Heart H.S. in 1955, and was a communicant of St Edward's Church in Pawtucket.

Joanne is survived by four daughters, Dawn Neil & Lester Duncan of Barrington, Kelly Neil & Brian Hatch of Attleboro, MA, Candace Neil of Pawtucket & Elizabeth Ambash in her care, and Cindy Neil & Thomas Kenney, also of Pawtucket, and three sons, Donald Jr. & Heather Neil of Johnston, David Neil, and Christopher & Duo Neil of Newton, MA. She also leaves three grandchildren, Addison, Aiden, and Kaeleigh Neil, and a grandson due in May. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Phyllis Pelland, two siblings, Peter Heaney and Robin Wall, and many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by three siblings, Margaret Mundy & Ann Richard of Texas, and Thomas Heaney Jr. of CT.

Joanne was employed at Major Electric and Texas Instruments, and later at several restaurants including; China Garden, Chelo's, and Gregg's, before retiring in 2005. Joanne was a wonderful wife and loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Although she is in Heaven now, her kindness, gentleness, and love will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 28th at 10am at St. Edward's Church, 58 Hancock St., Pawtucket. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 259 West Wrentham Road in Cumberland. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 27th, from 4-8pm at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Avenue in Lincoln. If desired, donations in Joanne's name may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI.
